Happy Thanksgiving

On behalf of everyone who comprise the NCVF, Happy Thanksgiving!  We all know that these are challenging times but also know that so many of us are lucky to have health, food on our tables, a roof over our heads, and people who love and care for us.

The NCVF and most NCVF Recognized Leagues anticipate knowing more about the 2021 club volleyball season and championship in January, 2021.  Leaders have been actively meeting, collecting information, staying updated on school and health directives, and evaluating options to reengage safely.  We encourage our participants to remain patient, abide by school and community guidelines, and keep lines of communication open.

Although we have had to take a temporary timeout from club volleyball, we have not taken a time out from each other or our shared values, like respect, good health, unity and good will.  Thank you to all who contribute every day to make things better for others, especially essential workers, school and civic administrators and those who are caretakers at every level of our lives.

Feeding America Initiative

Congratulations to our one-of-a-kind NCVF leaders and participants who helped raise $10,000 for Feeding America and supported other critical philanthropic initiatives this year.  Lending a helping hand is a way of expressing our collective Thanks and Giving at a time and in ways that have positive and life-sustaining meaning to people everywhere.

We urge all our participants to stay engaged with good works by finding a local foodbank in need of support, working with community organizations to help safely advance their missions, or donating time or support to any of the multitude of other worthy causes.

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all, and please, stay safe!

NCVF Clubs Making a Difference Now

The NCVF encourages all collegiate club participants to support charitable causes in response to the many unprecedented challenges presented by COVID-19.

One great way to do so that will have real meaning to real people is to support local foodbanks.  The NCVF has kicked off this initiative by making a $10,000 contribution to Feeding America on behalf of our many contributing student clubs.

Feeding America® is the largest hunger-relief organization in the United States. Through a network of 200 food banks and 60,000 food pantries and meal programs (covering many areas where NCVF teams are located), meals are provided to more than 40 million people each year. Feeding America also supports programs that prevent food waste and improve food security among the people served; educates the public about the problem of hunger; and advocates for legislation that protects people from going hungry.

Thank you for caring!

Racism in any form is never acceptable and should never be tolerated.  The NCVF and the people that comprise it support the eradication of racism, bigotry, and discrimination in all its forms.  We express our sorrow for lost loved ones and offer our condolences to families and communities who have been victimized by discrimination, explicit or insidious.

But today, words are not enough.

We endorse individual and collective action that effectuates immediate and positive change.  We endorse education, community outreach, the removal of racists from office, and condemnation of racist policies and practices.  We endorse common decency and respect for others in the way we conduct our daily lives, and we encourage atonement, love and the persistence of our joint convictions to eliminate the scourge of racism from this earth.

We are inspired by the strong, compassionate responses from our teams, showing themselves to not only be the leaders of tomorrow, but strong agents for positive change today.  Let us heed the call to action not only today, but every day.

To help “Flatten That Curve,” NCVF strongly encourages compliance with CDC guidelines, local, state and federal directives and all school policies.  Like everyone, we deeply appreciate the work done to confront and eradicate COVID-19, and hope for more clarity in the days, weeks and months ahead.  In the meantime, we implore everyone to please stay safe!
